Start of Summer

Last week was our first official week of Summer vacation. It was somewhat interesting and a bit different than planned. Looking back it was a great start to the Summer. The girls attended a new Summer Camp on Tuesday. Nicole was bored to tears and the oldest one there. We decided not to keep the kids in the program and now Dani, our friend and neighbor is watching them. Why we did not plan this from the start is beyond me! The girls have had a great time staying home the past couple days! Today they went to the Library and they are going back tomorrow for some more fun. Dani is keeping them busy and I am sure she is sleeping well at night. The girls started sleeping in a bit this week which is wonderful! For those of you who do not know, Ashley is an early riser. I am hoping that will change now that I do not have to get her up to go somewhere.

Nicole started some soccer training sessions with whom she calls, "Coach Blake". He plays soccer for the local team here in town. She seems to be enjoying herself and learning a lot as well. We went to Blake's game the other night. He had a big cheering section from both girls! I was surprised at how much fun the girls had. See below for some pics.

Chad and I purchased a new camera. Our old one has not held a charge for more than 10 minutes for over a year. We are very excited! Hopefully you will see some better pics moving forward. It will more than likely take me a year to learn how to use all the functions.

I'M BACK

Happy Father's Day to all the Father's out there. We enjoyed a nice day with Chad cooking venison on the grill and enjoying time with the girls.

It has been a while since my last post so I will not bore you with all that has happened in the past couple months. School is out as of this past Friday and Nicole is now a 5th grader and Ashley a 2nd grader. They are both looking forward to Summer and all that it brings. They will be going to Camp 3 days a week. Unlike when I was young they will also be doing some schoolwork 2-3 days per week to get them ready for the Fall. School encourages this so I try to make it fun for them. Reality is that they do the work because they have to and end up having some fun along the way.

Now that I have my 1st half marathon behind me, I am now training for a 10 mile race that I will do in August.

Nicole tried out for a more competitive Soccer Organization and was blessed to have made the team. She is very excited! The season officially starts in August but she will do some training and fun activities with her team over the Summer.

Ashley has become a master at Hula Hoop and thinks she may want to try and ride her bike without training wheels. We tried today but did not get very far. She will decide when she is ready.

Stay tuned for more posts.
