Father/Daughter Dance

Daddy and the girls had their big night out last night. Every year they attend the Father/Daughter dance.

They insisted that Danni do their hair. Danni is a neighbor and someone who watches the girls for us during the Summer and any other time we need her. The girls have always enjoyed being around Danni and her sister Hayley. Chad and I are very fortunate to have them in our lives. They are great kids! Danni is always doing the girls hair when watching them so I was not at all surprised when both girls insisted on Danni as their hair dresser for the evening. I have to say it was very relaxing for me just to sit and visit while someone else did the work!

Daddy and the girls went to Dinner with other friends at an Italian restaurant in our town prior to the Dance. They enjoyed hanging out with friends and dancing. The girls looked so beautiful all dressed up! Daddy cleans up pretty good too.

Nicole's Big Day

We spent last Saturday in "Parma" Michigan attending Nicole's Destination Imagination(DI)regional competition. If you want to understand what this program is all about visit http://www.idodi.org/.

I am proud to say that her team came in 2nd and are moving on to the State competition being held on April 17th. It was a long day for all of us. We left the house at 8am and got home about 8:30pm. Part of the competition is behind closed doors. The parents actually only get to see the kids for about 10 minutes. The rest of the day was spent watching other teams perform and enjoying the company of other parents and friends. They had "trading" for the kids which consisted of all the kids in the gym trading their treasures for other treasures. A DJ played music during the trading which lasted over two hours. Ashley started with nothing and came home with a bag full of goodies.

When Nicole's team came out to perform, I stopped breathing. I was so nervous for them! Her team has 2 wonderful coaches who really care about the kids and have made this a great experience for her. DI teaches kids that with teamwork and dedication you can achieve anything you want. What a great program!

Mom...This is for you!

At age 36, I finally understand what it means to juggle everyday life with a family of four. Some of my friends and I have recently had conversations about how our lives have changed. When I say "change", I do not mean for the worst but rather different in the sense that we have had to learn to adjust with the aging of our families.

Most of you reading this know me well enough to know I am not a "last minute" person. I like to be in control and with that comes prioritizing and organization. When Nicole was our only child the house, laundry, bills, and everything else that comes with being an adult was always done on time. When Ashley came into our lives there was an adjustment but things still were running smoothly.

Fast forward almost 6 years later...family, school, homework, Church, work, laundry, household chores, soccer, swimming, DI,etc, etc, etc.....you get the picture. It is a miracle that I can find time to type this blog, run and spend time with Chad. Speaking of Chad, he is a saint! He is the one person I push to the side at times because I know he understands. Anyone who can live in a house with 3 girls gets an A in my book! I know some of my family and friends feel neglected at times but please understand that I am doing the best that I can.

With all that said, I couldn't be happier! When you look at my blog and don't see a recent update, know that I am happy being a Mom and wife!
