This past Tuesday Chad and I celebrated our 14th Wedding Anniversary. Happy Anniversary Chad!
It is amazing how time seems to go by on fast forward. As I look back on our journey, I feel blessed to have a husband who is also my best friend. In the early years of our marriage we would set goals, make a plan, and achieve them. Things haven't changed much in that way since then. We still set goals and achieve them. It is the goals that are so much different. Before kids our goals would be about us and what we wanted. Now our goals revolve around the kids.
I will be the first to admit that sometimes we put ourselves and each other on the back burner, but don't most at this stage in life? I wouldn't change anything! We have had the opportunity to love one another, overcome challenges together, celebrate and embrace the gift of life with 2 wonderful kids, and great family and friends to share our lives with! We even manage to find quiet time for the two of us every now and then.
Speaking of finding time for the two of us, the girls spent a couple nights at Chad's parents house this past week. It happened to work out that we were alone on our anniversary. I told Chad's Dad that I do not think that we have been alone on our anniversary since Nicole has been born. That was a really nice treat! We went to dinner and came home and watched a movie. Thanks Mom and Dad Miller for the quiet time!
The girls had a lot of fun at Mema and Papa's. I keep hearing from Ashley how she beat Mema at Domino's. Watch out Ashley, Mema is out for a rematch!
Chad is out of town for the next few days golfing with some friends in Traverse City. We are enjoying some girl time back at the house.

Summer Fun
We have been staying busy the past couple weeks enjoying the warm weather. The girls have spent a lot of time playing with friends, swimming in the pool next door, and staying up late. They are adapting well to staying at home with a sitter while Chad and I are working. I am not sure who loves Dani more, them or me! She does all their homework with them and keeps them so busy and entertained that they are tired at the end of the day. Walking up to the library, eating lunch in the park and getting slushy's are top on the list of fun things they do.
Ashley still has not wanted to ride her bike and we are not pushing her yet. She has learned to swim on her own and is so proud of herself! Of course Chad and I are very excited about her swimming progress too! It is nice to see her in the water enjoying every minute! She loves to swim on her back and float on her back like her Mema Abbey.
Nicole went to a one day class last week called, "camp 911". The class is put on by the local fire department. She learned a lot about emergency response, CPR, stranger awareness and safety, bike safety, and enjoyed going up in the air 80 feet like the fireman do. After that they were able to use the fire hose and have some water fun.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY
Happy 4th of July to all our family and friends. We started our celebration on Friday night with the "Fun Run". All kids through age 12 are invited to run. Nicole did not want to sign up but we all went to cheer Ashley on. Her age group had to run 1/4 mile. There were so many runners that she was knocked over at the start of the race. She fell hard, face forward, got up and looked around for a minute and then took off running. She finished in the middle of the pack. Not bad with a late start. Way to go Ashley!
Yesterday morning I ran a 10k in our home town. After that we walked up to the parade and had our traditional lunch with our friends. We spent the early afternoon hanging out with friends in the neighborhood. Later in the day we went to the Lake to have dinner with the Smith's. The lake was very relaxing. The girls had a great time swimming and came home nice and dirty. Today we will be having a Taco Bar with family and friends and then head off to see fireworks on the lake.
